history of a number of Norfolk seamen over the centuries and endeavours to bring their exploits and achievements from out of the shadow of Horatio Nelson, who as a Norfolk man tends to dominate naval themes, often at the expense of people such as Sir Cloudesley Shovell, Edward Berry, Captain George Manby and Sir Arthur Knyvet Wilson, who also left an incredible maritime legacy.

He has also written a chapter on being a Defence Correspondent for journalism textbook and produced A History of The Hoste, which focuses on the history of the four-star hotel at Burnham Market and its maritime connections.
